Dorna Approves 1098 for Formula Extreme
MotorcycleUSA.com is reporting that Dorna, the MotoGP governing body, and the Spanish Federation have approved the 1098 for 1000cc Formula Extreme class racing and they have also amended the rules to allow twin cylinder engines up to 1200cc. In a surprising move the Spanish Federation and promoters Dorna have stolen a march on FGSport, promoters of World Superbike and World Supersport by approving the participation of the new Ducati 1,098cc twin for the premier 1000cc Formula Extreme class and the Triumph 675cc triple for the Supersport class. But they went even farther, approving twin cylinder machines up to 1,200cc, anticipating the mooted Ducati 1200.
