the 1098 looks promising performance wise, but i dont think it will be able to touch the current ssexy 999/749. i think 999 is one of the best designs. better than 916. i dont say it because i own one.

plus why would anyone get a ducati that is not a superbike.

The Germans actually didn't get the drop on the 1098 but a tourist that happened to be at the right place at the right time. A Mr. Tyne posted his pictures on a forum (cant remember which one) from a trip to Italy where he went to almost all of the exotic car and motorcycle factorys. A reader on the forum pointed out that he had got the shot that no one had been able to get as of yet of the 1098. He ended up selling the rights to a cycle magazine in the UK that basically paid for his trip. Sadley had he know what he had I think he would have made a significant amount of money from the photos and video of the rider getting the helll out of dodge when he learned a tour group was going through the area where the bike was parked. The headlights are straight off of a Desmo RR by the way. Ducati was the first to use that side by side design so all the jap bikes look like they copied Ducati to me. :)

Sorry, but that bike made something in my pants twitch. When i get my paycheck at the end of this month, i am heading straight to the Duc dealership a few blocks away and slamming down my deposit money for this bad boy. Please be closer to 1200cc's, Please have 160 hp, please to not look identical to the 749/999; Please come equipped with ohlins and brembos and some carbin fiber accents, because i will wait and purchase the S model if need be. Please have the exhaust smell like pastrami and not terryaki.
