It took a few more days than I had hoped but I finally got a ride in now that it’s 2006. I was hoping to come back and write a wonderfully witty and well though out post about how charming it was to be out riding in early January in 80º heat, but to be honest the lengthy workdays I’ve been pulling the last week and a half seem to have caught up with me on a mental level. If MotorMilt hadn’t been around today I’m not sure I would have even hit the canyons. I just as easily could have hit snooze on the alarm and gone back to bed. It was one of those kind of days. Mindless might be a good word for it and I suspect that after you spend seven or eight twelve to sixteen hour days stairing at a computer monitor it only stands to reason that your body needs some time to decompress a bit. Today was that day. So even though I greatly enjoyed being out on the bike and hitting up the canyons with MM, the realities of what I’ve got to get done tomorrow and in the days following have managed to sneek inside and snake away some of the afterglow excitement. Here’s to hoping next weekend is a bit more engaging…
