Apparently this photo serves to legitimize the recent rumors that Ducati will shortly be announcing a new Monster S4RS at the upcoming Milan Motorcycle Show.
Assuming the rumors are in fact correct the bike will ship with an ohlins suspension system and the Testastretta motor from the 999. Horsepower is said to be around 130-ish. One can only imagine that shoehorning the Testastretta into the Monster was only a matter of time since the naked bike line represents Ducati’s sales breadwinner. Over the course of the line’s lengthy marketplace run the factory has done a remarkable job of keeping the bike fresh and this seems like a natural time to switch engines considering that the MotoGP race team has moved on to the ‘Desmosedici’ (technically called the Desmodromic 4-cylinder L engine) engine.
Of course as with all rumors who knows if this is infact true or not but with the Milan show starting in just 3 days I guess we’ll find out soon enough…
If you’re curious about the upcoming Milan show, I suggest a trip over to Alanf’s Blog where he’s got a pretty nifty write up about what he expects to see…
