MotoGP Op Ed @ SuperbikePlanet

SuperbikePlanet.com has published an interesting three part Op Ed series on the upcoming MotoGP season, culminating today with an interesting look at what went wrong with Ducati’s 2004 racing effort. Basically they believe that the Bolognia boys bite off more than they could chew when they took the quatum leep forward from the more evolutionary GP-3 to the 65% new GP-4 last season. To be honest, I find MotoGP a bit hard to follow here in the states since it has a limited broadcast window but thanks to the SB Planet editorial department yesterday’s Ducati PR Release about the new GP-5 makes a heck of a lot more sense now. They repeatedly envoked the ‘evolutionary’ phrase which seemed slightly odd to me… Anyway, the piece is worth the read, part one focuses on HRC, part two on Rossi & Co. and part three on the Ducati ‘04 season. You can check it out atMotoGP: It’s All in the Preparation; Part Three.

Ready for a far out thought. I think Ducati will never when a world championship with a trellis frame.
