Malibu Mud Slide Damage

Well, we finally got our first day of sunshine in what feels like months here in LA. Man, I needed it. I don’t know about any of you, but nasty weather just puts me in a seriously foul mood.

I know I’m often writing about how amazing I find our local roads, but they’re not always a stellar collection of twisties on sunshine filled days. Just to show you how insane it can get when it rains here I thought I’d pass along the handy work of another local SoCal motorcyclists and blogger named heathervescent. She has posted some nice picts of some of the recent damange in Malibu and the surrounding canyons. I’ve been curious how the canyons have been holding up and as you can see in the picts, the next time MotorMilt & I head up the PCH it sure looks like we’ll be in for some new surprises. In usual LA style, I’m sure CalTrans will have the PCH back up in no time, but the canyons will take awhile to dry out. To be honest, on one hand I’m a bit bummed by all the damage but then I remind myself that if it wasn’t for winter weather like we’ve had for the past last several weeks some of the canyon roads Milt and I love so much won’t exist in the first place. So it goes…

Glad you enjoyed the photos. Yeah - it’s been wild. As soon as I can get up to Piuma or Tuna Canyon I’ll post some more pics… See ya out there on the road soon. Stay dry!
