Is this is the new street legal and MotoGP derived Ducati Desmosedici RR?

New Ducati Desmosedici RR Model?

Now, obviously who knows if this thing is real or not - this could be a great photoshop mock up made by some kid in their bedroom - however regardless I feel utterly let down by the design. I know a great number of Ducatista out there hate Pierre Terblanche, the current head designer, because he dared to go away from the classic 916 styling when he penned the 999. I personally love the 999, shocking I know since I own one, but at least it stands out. This pict looks like a very strange marriage between some of the classic 916 lines and the a vast number of the 999R parts. It inspires nothing particularly in me, reminding me more of a Honda than a Duc. I’ll hold out complete disrespect for it until I see one in person - if it ever gets made….

HOW ARE YOU CRAZY????! Do you have sand in the eyes??? This is one of the most beautiful, clean and sportive designs I have ever seen! Ducati has only two nice designs: the Monster and this baby. But they are the most beautiful bikes made by Man! You go and get glasses, man!

You have to see it at first person to appreciate how amazing, powerful, and marvellous is. I haven’t got those 60.000€ it will cost in Spain… but I’d really like to buy one! It’s so marvellous and amazing… :)

I agree with flop peroke… Girls admit they have no clue of what my 999R or 748 Ducatis are, but all they say
    “those are very pretty bikes!..”

Then they see a “chineese” Honda, Kawi or Suki and it’s like… “umph, so what? it’s just a bike…”

Feel sorry for those above blog writers with a blind eye apreciation of Italian art…

Are you out of your MIND ????

The Desmosedici RR is THE most georgeous design to ever come from Ducati.

And you LIKE the 999 ?? You need to go study the last 2000 years of design my friend. Better yet………just look at the female figure and tell me the 999 (with all it’s dis-connected angles) looks like the lines of a woman or any world class Pinninfarina design.

Amazing………absolutely amazing. I hope you live see where history ranks the butt-fugly 999.

Hey, the RR is Ok, but very like the 1098 (which is horn!)…

I’d rather have a 1098 (in fact I’ve ordered one and it arrives in 2 weeks), and besides I’ve got a 4 cyclinder Ducati…. they call it an MV F41000R. A great combination, an MV 4 and Ducati twin (1098)….

PS Monsters are a big dull…..

Yeah, have to side with a few folks above on this one… as in a land slide victory. Just got back from laguna and saw this hybrid streamline state of the art beast in person… well all and all said at the end of the day, the vendors practically had to kick me out by end of business. Have since fantasized about cashing out on my stock options and placing an order men… Never really cared that much for the 999’s (certainly respect them). Formerly raced a FBF built 888 corsa, have owned a MUCH developed 916 street bike(loved that design). Just dreaming about owning one of these pro-types has reeked havic with the relationship with my girlfriend, cause I fantasize about it more than her, LOL. My $0.02 -Cheers

you guys have no idea what you are talking about it was not made to be pretty it was made to beat the tar out of anything that comes near it and at 200 bhp nothing stock can touch it as far as exotic goes just turn over the price tag $80,000 makes it pretty exclusive

No the ZX-14 nor the new Hyabusa are not faster than the DESMO RR. They are still governed to 186mph. So far at Mugello the bike hit 188mph and was still accelerating when it had to slow for turn 1. So top speed is going to be near 200mph. ZX-14 and Busa may be able to get closer to 200mph without the limiter but both would still need performance mods. Also power to weight ratio is in favor of the Ducati. 188bhp stock, 200bhp with race pipe and performance chip added and 375lbs compared to 170-180ish bhp and 500 lbs for the ZX and Busa. If I had $72K lying around I’d by the Desmo in a hear beat. But alas I’m just a poor serviceman and will have to dream, and be content with my Aprilia and Triumph.
