Stolen Ducs: The Payout

MotorMilt & I just got back from the State Farm claim adjusters’ office and thankfully everything has worked out. We both ended up receiving pretty fair and decent payouts and luckily seem to have gotten back most of the cash that we laid out as our down payment. So now it’s time to head to a local Duc dealer and see what we can do. We’ve got appointments Saturday at ProItalia.

All in all I feel fairly emotionally whipped from this entire ordeal, but right now it appears that we’re on the back end of it all and things are starting to look up again… So assuming that everything works out hopefully by the end of the weekend we’ll both be back on Ducs!

Just stumbled across this site while listing my stolen 04 749 Dark. I also have insurance through State Farm and we are in the beginning stages of compensation. I am awaiting an affidavit via mail from Sate Farm. They want to wait a week to see if the police recover the bike. As you are well aware these bikes are very expensive and I have poured many dollars into modifications. Just curious to know how this process works? I have receipts for the mods and I have been told that I can submit them. I still owe on the bike and I put a hefty down payment on it. Still baffled at how thieves were able to take it. I had a disc lock on both wheels, a Kryptonite chain through the rear wheel and tied to my truck. It was covered and pinned to the wall by my truck in a garage. Also, had a Scorpio alarm system. I was out of town working for a week and when I returned it was just not there. Very empty feeling and I wake up every morning feeling like I’ve been kicked in the gut. I keep thinking I need to worry more about being compensated for the loss and from reading your site I can see you have recently gone through this with State Farm. Any advise, on insurance, you can pass along would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Robert Pearson
