“The worst thing would be to be known for being totally safe. I feel the bike’s been influential, maybe not with Ducati fans, but there are lots of other brands that incorporated features from the 999. It was actually an extremely good motorcycle–a huge step forward as a motorcycle. Maybe it taught me that some people are more interested in the styling than in how the bikes work.
