AutoWeek Riffs On The Desmosedici

AutoWeek, one of my favorite motomags, has posted a nice review of the Desmosedici.

As delicious as this technology sounds, it does not disappoint while lapping Miller Motorsports Park in Utah. The engine snaps to life with a raspy note peculiar to its cylinder layout and 70-degree offset crank pins. It accelerates with enormous ferocity; the V4 shrieks to its 14,200-rpm rev limit while pressing its rider hard against the seatback. Instead of flattening out, the acceleration curve soars — we saw 168 mph on the straight with plenty more speed left. Mix this straight-line capability with laser-accurate cornering, phenomenal grip and absolutely astonishing braking, and you arrive at the Desmosedici RR’s biggest contribution: It is so good it makes you want to become a better rider. A whole lot better.
