If you want to see something really funny (if you’re a non-999 owner such as myself) take a look at all the 999′s up for sale on ebay motors. Last time I checked there were 36 on there with most owners asking for more then the $15,000 price of the 1098. Good luck trying to sell those fellas.

To claim that MCN “its status as Ducati preferred magazine of choice – this time scooping the world and publishing the very first 1098 review.” is not correct. I dont think that Ducati has any good relations with MCN, since they published their pre-milan article.

I would be very surprised if in today’s day and age of copyright laws this was a ‘ripped off’ article – more likely is that MCN has a purchased the UK publication right for the piece, which wouldn’t be the first time that the same written work showed up in different regions under different mastheads.

In addition, MCN’s proclivity for breaking Ducati news is more than mere luck. Rumors claim that they have a first-look deal with the factory and I would wager heavy odds that this is true. The now famous ‘leak’ was no accident at all – Trust me the folks at the factory had that place locked down. This was a very intelligent, well-executed and highly orchestrated marketing plan to garner additional buzz for the introduction of the 1098.

Sweet find mate. Looks like you can get the full-pull of marketing when you´re after a 1098. People are going crazy these days. Did anyone know the other manufacturers released 07 models as well? You know, like Yamaha, Kawasaki, maybe Aprilia… No you didn´t? Doesn´t surprise me

This is word for word a complete copy of te Motociclismo article, and yet again MCN have claimed it as their own “scoop”. Perhaps you at twisting Asphalt ought to do your research more thoroughly before placing such headlines on your website, which incidentally is about a week behind the rest of the world. 3 out of 10 for effort guys.

I would have preferred a PDF format. Adobe’s “Snapshot Tool” allows me to print the part of the page I want without the extra debris.

I got my deposit at Chicago Cycle Center, Feb 16 is del dat of my Tricolor. I just sold my 04zx10r and i think this is a good move up on the ladder.

Good move Edvin, My Tricolore arrives downunda in Australia end of March, (first Tri to be delivered here I am told) I was fortunate enough to ride a 1098S two days after christmas and I tell you it made my much loved 996 feel so outdated I couldnt believe it. I will miss the 996 only until I throw a leg over my new Tricolore! My experience mirrored that of this article for manouverability, acceleration, stability and braking but without the minor vibration that was mentioned. On another note, Who cares about where the article came from….. The bike is as awesome as they say and that’s all any of us are really interested in! Enjoy!!!

Hey Scrubby. Hope you are enjoying the bike by now. I am also from downunder and have my tricolore being delivered in May. Test rode the s in Holland in Feb and just couldn’t resist buying one back home. As I hadn’t seen the italian article before I enjoyed reading the twisting asphalt review.

A very nice bike indeed I had mine delivered last month. However it depends what you are used to. I had a 996SPS model 200 and 916 before that. I also have a GSXR1000 K6. Thing is compared to old ducatis this is a civilized bike I must say. The feeling when you ride (what Ducatis are known for) is different and I dare say less racey. If you are OK with it then no problem if not you have to get used to it.. Oh by the way Suzuki makes more power this is a fact despite more torque at low revs and upto 9000 rpm.
