Bentley GTC & a Racing Multistrada

It’s been a long day of driving… Phew! So I just got back from a quick turn around shoot in Napa for the introduction of the Bentley Continental Convertible or as the Brits call it, simply the ‘GTC’. All in all, quite an impressive piece of automotive engineering and craftsmanship when you see it up close in person… Of course being a motorcycle nut I found it a bit strange to be standing next to a car that costs approximately $170,000 USD when that same lump sum of cash could purchase garage full of fantastic bikes. For instance you could come home with a Desmosedici, the entire Sport Classic line, an ST3S, a Multistrada and a Monster and still have cash left to burn. So nothing against the Continental, but if I had the cash I know where I’d spend it…

While I was away, Alex from Italy passed along a fantastic flickr set of Racing Multistrada picts that answer the age old question, can anyone get their knee down on a Multistrada?

According to Alex, he and his friends decided to race their Stradas for kicks in the latest Ducati Speedweek that was held in Hungary in July. They entered the 2 valve per cylinder class and raced against bikes such as the Ducati SS 900/1000, Monster S2R, Bimota Delirio and other customs built around the 2 valve Ducati engine. Besides being just a cool set of picts to look at, I thought it was worth posting because I’ve always wondered what a Strada would be like on the track. They certainly look like a fun ride…
