Polaris Interested in Ducati?

30 November 2005 99 views One Comment

Apparently The Financial Times of London is running a story today about Ducati possibly being at least partially acquired by the American idustrial company Polaris (maker of powerboats, ATVs and Victory Motorcycles)…

From: The Financial Times Limited.

The American Texas Pacific Group fund has been negotiating its handover of Italian motorcycle manufacturer, Ducati, for a considerable period. Talks with Andrea Bonomi’s investment company, InvestIndustrial, do not appear to be progressing rapidly and InvestIndustrial’s period of exclusive rights to buy Ducati expired some weeks ago.

Sources suggest that American industrial giant Polaris Industries has emerged as a potential buyer. Polaris is present on the motorcycle market through its Victory model, but also produces other vehicles, including speedboats. In July, the American industrial entity acquired a 24 per cent stake in Austrian group KTM Power Sports.
