Trackday : Scary Fast

Right now I’m physically and mentally exhausted from the track, but I have to say that it was a truly eye-opening experience on a number of levels. I’ll write up a much longer post tomorrow when I have some time to reflect back and some time to catch up with some rest. This will probably sound a bit odd, but right now I feel like I need to slow down. I’ve spent all day going faster than I’ve ever gone in my entire life and while it was an absolute blast, it was also incredibly mentally draining. I have a new repsect for the AMA guys and above – I used to think going fast for one lap was hard, but truth be told one lap is easy. Keeping the speed, concentration and mental edge up for multiple laps is incredibly hard. And the big track at Willow Springs is a fast, fast place. One of the Trackdaz instructors summed it up best early this morning when he said, “this place is scarry fast and it gets hairy”… Oh boy it does…
