Are Ducati Cost Cuts Coming??
Well it appears that the boys in Bolognia have started to question their product matrix and cost structure. Enrico D’Onofrio, Chief Financial Officer of Ducati, was quoted in the recently released Ducati Investor Relationship PDF as saying,
“Company results force us to rethink our cost structure and product mix through a restructuring and relaunch plan whose details and expected results will be presented soon”
If you’re interested you can read more at the Ducati.com Investor Relations. Hopefully this ‘new’ cost structure might finally address why there’s a $5,000 USD difference between a 749 and a 999 when 95% or more of both base level bikes are built using the same exact parts.
IMHO if they could get the 749 under the 10k mark, even if it was a touch more expensive than a Japanese rocket, you’d seen way more Duc riders…
