Desmosedici RR Spy Photos

While I was out of town at Willow Springs, Lowell over at Ducati Los Angeles posted some really cool spy photos of what is believed to be the street version of the new Ducati Desmosedici RR. As with all things Ducati, there is obviously some serious debate going on in the forums regarding whether or not this is in fact the new street variant of the MotoGP bike or whether it’s just a testing mule for the GP team. In either case it’s a pretty slick looking testing mule… I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’d be happy to take it around for a short spin… For more picts & a bit more on the scoop check out Lowell’s website.

  1. I really have to wonder how anyone could claim that this could be a GP team test bike. Why in the hell would a GP team test bike have mirrors with integrated turn signals and a headlight? However, no matter what it is, I’m with you Dylan, that is one beautiful, curvaceous beast.

  2. Michael Sierchio says:

Sorry, fella - that’s not a Desmo16 RR. It’s a 749 or 999 with a composite subframe and GP styled fairing. The subframe looks to be a CarboTech, and the bike has the standard 749/999 swingarm.

  3. Michael Sierchio says:

Oops, forgot to mention — that’s not an Ohlins SBK fork (ca. USD $8k), it’s the standard emulsion fork on the 999S and 999R.

  4. loser says:

 dam that is a sweet bike. How much are they?

  5. Elliott says:

no, if you think about it, theyre probably not goin to spend money on them superlight weight swinging arms when they can put a 999 arm on, it obviously won’t be as fast as the real desmosedici in MotoGP so there probably is no need for the real swinging arm off it, by the way if you don’t believe them pictures, check out this site http://www.bikewalls.com/motorcycles/Ducati_wallpapers
i think thats proof of a road going Desmosedici

    Whasup people
If any of you have been following ducati racing since 2002, you would know that Ducati has been planning the release of the first street legal GP bike for years. Of course all of the other manufacturers will follow suit (depending on Ducati sales success), just as they did with the underseat exhaust. I hope it all goes well. & peace to you all. Be Safe
    Peace

okay as far as the desmosedici rr it looks like it will be a dream lets see if ducati lives up to its name and produces a street legal weapon here. Many manufacturers have created alot of publicity with lets say the rc30 or owo1 but at the end of the day they were marginaly better than standard models. We have all been waiting for years for the real mcoy lets hope they keep there word . and by the way 75k is cheap if you look at thats basiclly the sales tax on a lamborghini mercilago and this bikes200hp and 385lb weight to power ratio leage of its own .

  8. shep says:

    thats not a desmosedici.
it has the exhaust straight up where back seat woulod be,
lights not like that and swingarm not the same, good call mike.
and yes it puts 181 to the ground and weighs 377 dry ,with killer aerodynamics it has to be rediculous
